IRCTC, the Indian Railways catering services supplier, has revealed a new reservation ticket purchasing update for upcoming trips. IRCTC has cut the reservation booking period in half, from 120 days to 60 days, as of November 1, 2024. Notably, not all reserved tickets purchased before to November 1 are affected by this latest modification. This is a detailed explanation on how to make an online reservation.
IRCTC 60 Days Timeline:
IRCTC said in the regulatory filing that it has shortened the Advance Reservation Period (ARP) from 120 days to 60 days. The number of trains operating each day has not changed, it added. As a result, the capacity for reserved tickets will remain unchanged.
The submission further stated that convenience fees levied on e-tickets purchased through IRCTC’s platform will not have an effect on the organization’s Internet Ticketing earnings.
